Brisbane changed in August 2024. Queensland's decriminalisation law took effect, and a companion scene that had worked quietly for years began to advertise, screen and work openly. The city's listings have deepened every month since, touring companions now put Brisbane on the east-coast circuit, and the warm evenings suit the kind of booking that starts outdoors. This guide is the local knowledge for an evening here.
Everything is for adults; the state-by-state guide covers the law.
How the city is laid out
- The CBD and South Bank are where outcalls land: the hotels along the river, Queen Street and the South Bank parklands side. Companions across the inner city travel here, usually without a travel fee.
- Fortitude Valley is where the night happens: bars, clubs, live rooms, and the densest run of incalls in the city, in apartments around the Valley and New Farm.
- New Farm and Teneriffe are where the dinner dates start: James Street, the riverside restaurants, the wine bars.
- West End and South Brisbane have a smaller, more relaxed scene and good casual dining.
- The northside and the southside suburbs are outcall territory, with a travel fee from the inner city.
On LuXeel, the Brisbane directory page lists published independents with rates and availability, and the map shows incalls at suburb level.
Venues and events
Brisbane's licensed venues are being listed on LuXeel as they are reviewed and published, under the planning rules that have applied since decriminalisation; the venues pages show what is current. For what is on tonight, the Tonight page is updated daily, and the Valley's live calendar is the busiest in Queensland. An hour south, the Gold Coast has its own scene and its own venues.
Planning a Brisbane dinner date
Brisbane's advantage is the weather: an evening can start outdoors eight months of the year, and the riverside and James Street restaurants are built for it. A plan that works:
- Book her first. Three to five hours, starting at seven, and ask where she likes to start; many Brisbane companions will suggest James Street or the river.
- Book the restaurant in your name. James Street or the Teneriffe riverside for the east; Howard Smith Wharves under the Story Bridge for the view; South Bank for the parklands side.
- Book the room. A CBD or South Bank hotel, checked into before dinner.
- Meet where she suggests, often the hotel bar or a wine bar near the restaurant.
- Dinner, then the river. The walk along the water from the Wharves to the CBD is the thing visitors remember.
- Keep the arrangement private until you are in the room.
The dinner date guide covers the conventions and the etiquette guide the rest.
Practical Brisbane
- Getting around. Trains and the busway run until late but not all night; rideshares are the reliable option and plentiful in the Valley and the CBD. Companions arrange their own transport; do not offer to drive them.
- Hotels. The CBD and South Bank have the depth. Book in your own name; room number only when she asks, on the night.
- Cash. Deposits by transfer, the balance usually in cash. Have the full amount before you meet.
- Timing. Brisbane goes out earlier and sleeps earlier than Sydney or Melbourne; seven o'clock starts are normal and a dinner date can end by eleven. "Available now" means the companion updated her status today.
- Heat. From November to March, plan for air-conditioning: the hotel bar rather than the footpath, the early evening rather than the afternoon.
- Touring. Brisbane is now a regular stop between Sydney and the Gold Coast; touring dates appear on profiles a week or two ahead.
A Brisbane evening, hour by hour
- Five thirty. Check into the hotel; the light on the river is worth being on a balcony for.
- Seven. Meet at the hotel bar or a wine bar on James Street.
- Seven thirty. Dinner, outdoors if the weather allows.
- Nine thirty. The river walk, or one more bar in the Valley if the evening wants it.
- Ten. The hotel. The balance handed over in the first minute.
- Late. The booking ends when the time ends. A thank you, and she arranges her own way home.
Safety and good practice
Decriminalisation put the law on the side of both parties here. What keeps a Brisbane evening safe: book reviewed profiles (every LuXeel profile is checked by a person; badges and verified reviews tell you more), pay the deposit and provide screening, phone away, respect boundaries, pay in full, leave on time.
